Join our team and make a difference in an underserved pediatric population
George Mark Children’s House (GMCH) is seeking self-directed Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to provide life-affirming comfort care for children and their families. The CNA serves as the right hand of the Registered Nurse (RN) assisting in providing direct patient care. A GMCH CNA is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, consisting of a Child Life Specialist, Medical Social Worker, Palliative Care Physician, Case Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, Clinical Psychologist, and Nursing Manager. We prioritize closely collaborating with each family and partnering as an interdisciplinary team to provide the best quality of life for each and every GMCH child. We give children and families the chance to spend time together and create memories outside the rigid constraints of a hospital setting.
At the direction of and with the supervision of the Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse on duty, the CNA will assist in providing direct patient care within the framework of the GMCH Mission and the philosophy of pediatric palliative care.
High school diploma or GED
California licensed CNA with current BLS/CPR certification. The ideal candidate will preferably have a minimum of one year of CNA experience and pediatric or palliative (end-of-life) care experience and have the ability to work autonomously as well as the ability to work as part of a team. This individual must be passionate about providing high quality, holistic care and wholeheartedly representing the mission of GMCH.
