Noah died on July 31, 2011. The relationship 
between the Webers and George Mark Children’s 
House did not end then; rather, it deepened. Through 
bereavement support, remembrance events, and 
community programs, their bond with GMCH has 
continued for fourteen years. As Sofia grew older, 
she returned as a volunteer. She helped in the art 
room and supported other children walking the 
same quiet, and sometimes lonely, path she had 
walked. In spending time with the siblings of other 
patients, she found new levels of purpose and 
connection.
Sofia’s journey reflects what George Mark 
Children’s House has offered for over two decades: 
a place where compassion endures, legacies are 
honored, and families discover light even in their 
darkest hours.
