Expanding Care,
Strengthening Support
When families arrive at George Mark Children’s
House, they are often exhausted—emotionally,
physically, and spiritually. What they encounter at
GMCH is something unique in pediatric care: an
entire team devoted to a child’s medical needs, and
to the support of everyone who loves that child.
In 2025, as part of a strategic commitment to serve
more families with increased services, GMCH
expanded its psychosocial team by hiring two
additional clinicians: Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Sara Wolfowitz and Marriage and Family Therapist
Evan Lutz. Since April 2025, under the mentorship of
founder Dr. Kathy Hull, each has provided between
six and twenty therapy sessions to more than twenty
bereaved and respite families. Adding to our staff
has dramatically increased access to the well-being
of our families.
Working closely with lead social worker Cindy Field,
our new clinicians support families who come to
George Mark Children’s House for the first time. Our
team answers questions, eases anxiety, and helps
caregivers breathe again. They also provide ongoing
counseling for families navigating long-term respite
or end-of-life care. These experienced and
compassionate professionals are present at clinical
reviews, ready to respond to concerns as they arise
and ensure that emotional needs are addressed in
conjunction with the medical protocol.

“Children with medically complex needs can be
incredibly isolated. Here, there are opportunities for
connection and friendship. Every interaction—from
nurses to staff to visitors—allowed our daughter to
simply be herself. It’s a warm, inviting, safe place
that creates space for all emotions.”
 - Dr. Tasha Faruqui, DO, award-winning pediatrician,
bestselling author, and mother of a GMCH child
