A Unique Model of Care
GMCH Annual Report | 2025

Depth and accessibility make this program truly
extraordinary. Every element of psychosocial
care is offered free of charge to families, starting
at the moment of intake. In a region known for
medical innovation, George Mark Children’s
House remains singular in its ability to surround
families with such sustained, personalized, and
multidisciplinary support: before, during, and long
after a child’s illness. This particular model of care
is reshaping what is possible in pediatric palliative
services, and GMCH is leading the way.

Moments That Last a Lifetime
Beyond counseling sessions and assessments, the
psychosocial team creates spaces for recognition,
connection, and healing through grief retreats, the
annual Service of Remembrance, Pumpkin Day, and
family gatherings that allow parents and siblings of
George Mark families to come together.
After a child dies, care for the family continues. Our
team supports families who wish to memorialize their
children at GMCH. One opportunity is to place
stones or tiles in the garden—quiet markers of love to
which families can return as often as they like.
