George Mark Children’s House (GMCH) is seeking highly independent, self-directed RNs to provide life-affirming comfort care for children and their families. GMCH offers the unique opportunity to obtain all-encompassing exposure to advanced clinical skills while highlighting the different correlating developmental stages of children and their needs. A GMCH floor nurse is a strong asset to the interdisciplinary team, consisting of a Child Life Specialist, Medical Social Worker, Palliative Care Physician, Case Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, Clinical Psychologist, and Nursing Manager. The team works together to tailor each patient’s plan of care to best suit each child, family, and particular situation. Unlike busy hospitals and sub-acute care facilities, GMCH allows nurses the invaluable opportunity to spend quality time with each patient and family in order to develop a rapport and meet medical and psychosocial needs. We prioritize closely collaborating with each family and partnering as an interdisciplinary team to provide the best quality of life for each and every GMCH child. We give children and families the chance to spend time together and create memories outside the rigid constraints of a hospital setting.
At the direction of the patient’s primary care physician, the Medical Director and the Director of Nursing, provide and coordinate quality palliative care to patients/families, including nursing services, medication administration, treatments, diagnostic and preventative procedures.
California licensed RN candidates. The ideal candidate will preferably have at least two years or more of pediatric and/or palliative (end-of-life) care experience and have the ability to work autonomously as well as the ability to work as part of a team. This individual must be passionate about providing high quality, holistic care and wholeheartedly representing the mission of GMCH.
Employees regularly working a minimum of 24 hours per week are eligible to participate in the benefits program on the first day of the month following 60 days of hire. The cost for employees’ health, dental and vision are paid in full by GMCH. Employees are responsible for the cost of enrolling their dependents and eligible family members.
