There are some partnerships that become part of the heart of a community, and for the past ten years, that has certainly been true for the incredible partnership between World Pizza Champion Tony Gemignani, San Francisco Giants pitchers Logan Webb and Ryan Walker, and George Mark Children’s House.
On Friday, May 8, Tony, Logan Webb, and Ryan Walker spent the afternoon at George Mark Children’s House sharing pizza, laughter, stories, and meaningful moments with the children, families, and care teams who make the House so amazing. What began a decade ago as a shared desire to give back has grown into a lasting tradition of pizza and baseball.
The afternoon was filled with smiles as dough flew through the air, pizzas were created together, and conversations unfolded around what this partnership has meant over the years. Throughout the visit, patients and families had the chance to meet the players, take photos, collect autographs, and enjoy fresh pizza straight from Tony himself.
For the children and families at George Mark Children’s House, visits like these are moments of joy, normalcy, and community, reminding families that they are seen, supported, and surrounded by people who truly care.
Over the course of the partnership, more than $350,000 has been raised to support George Mark Children’s House’s mission and the specialized care provided to children and young adults with serious medical conditions.
Support the House — One Slice at a Time
The visit also celebrated this year’s Slice House fundraising campaign, featuring two special San Francisco Giants-inspired pizzas available now through mid-September at participating Slice House locations. For every slice sold, $1 is donated to George Mark Children’s House, along with $6 from every whole pizza purchased.
